Dr. Nitinchandra 'Nitin' Desai
Dr. Nitinchandra Desai is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician, Medical Director, and Principal Investigator at Cross Creek Medical Clinic. He has practiced in Fayetteville, NC since 1996 and brings nearly three decades of clinical experience to both patient care and clinical research.
In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Desai has extensive experience conducting 55+ Phase I–IV industry-sponsored clinical trials across a broad range of therapeutic areas, including gastrointestinal and inflammatory diseases, vaccines and infectious diseases, autoimmune conditions, neurology, metabolic and endocrine disorders, and cardiopulmonary disease.
Research Publications
Dr. Desai has contributed to clinical research published in leading medical journals. His work includes the E.mbrace Phase 3 trial, evaluating the 9-valent ExPEC9V vaccine for the prevention of invasive Escherichia coli disease in older adults, published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases.
He also coauthored research from the CONNECT trial, published in The New England Journal of Medicine, which found that continuous glucose monitoring improved blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes who were not using insulin.

Dr. Desai also contributes his medical expertise to public health education. His commentary has appeared in Forbes, Live Science, Health Digest, Kars4Kids Parenting, and eHealth Radio.
His media contributions have covered vaccination, immune response and vaccine side effects, infection prevention, family and workplace safety, and the role of digital health technology in supporting informed health decisions.
Through both clinical research and public education, Dr. Desai remains committed to advancing medical knowledge while making reliable health information more accessible to patients and communities.
