Kidney Disease - APPRECIATE
| Kidney disease involves damage to the kidneys that impairs their ability to properly filter waste and regulate fluids in the body. Certain forms of kidney disease are driven by immune system activity, including IgA nephropathy — a condition in which IgA antibodies accumulate in the kidneys and cause inflammation and scarring over time. People with progressive kidney disease may experience swelling, fatigue, and protein or blood in the urine. Without treatment, kidney function can continue to decline. We are currently enrolling a clinical research study for adults diagnosed with kidney disease, including IgA nephropathy.
