Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a functional gastrointestinal disorder that affects millions of adults in the United States. It is characterized by chronic or recurring abdominal pain, bloating, and altered bowel habits. IBS-D involves predominant diarrhea and urgency, while IBS-M involves alternating episodes of diarrhea and constipation. The exact cause of IBS is not fully understood, but factors such as gut-brain communication, gut microbiome imbalances, and stress may all play a role. We are currently enrolling a clinical research study for adults diagnosed with IBS-D or IBS-M.
